# Nearwick

> Nearwick is a business directory for every country. Each business has its own page, which shows what is known about the business and the date each detail is from. There are no star ratings, no scores and no rankings anyone can pay for.

Nearwick is at https://nearwick.com. It is owned and operated by Facio Innovations Technology (Faciotech), registered in Ghana and Canada. It lists 115,052 businesses in 246 countries, and adds more every night.

## What a business page shows

- The business’s name, its category and where it is. Where they are known, its address, a map pin, its website and its opening hours.
- On a page the business has not claimed, “Details from” and a date. That is when its details were last known to be updated, or when it was first listed if they never were. Nothing on such a page has been confirmed with the business, and any detail may have changed since.
- On a page the business added or claimed, “Managed by the business”. A person at Nearwick checked the claim first. Its description, opening hours, website and phone number come from the business.
- “From their website” and the date Nearwick last read it, beside a description or opening hours taken from the business’s own website. Any fact taken from a website appears on that website. Nothing is invented.
- Checks against outside records. Each check names the record or the test, and gives its date, such as “Website reachable, last checked” and a date. A check records that one test was done on that day. It is not a rating, a review or a recommendation.
- A phone number only when the business claimed its page and chose to show one.
- No star ratings, scores, reviews or rankings. No business can pay to be listed higher. A row labelled Featured never changes the order of the listings.

## Addresses

- https://nearwick.com/{cc} is a country’s directory. {cc} is the country’s two-letter ISO 3166-1 code in lower case, such as gh for Ghana or ca for Canada. Every country has one.
- https://nearwick.com/{cc}/c/{category} lists the businesses in one category, such as https://nearwick.com/gh/c/pharmacies. A category is a group, such as health-beauty, or one of its subcategories.
- https://nearwick.com/{cc}/search?q={words} searches one country. It also takes category, city, region, has (website, hours or map), since (2024, 2020 or 2015), size (small, medium, large or xlarge), joined=1, sort=recent and page.
- https://nearwick.com/{cc}/b/{slug} is one business’s page. Its address stays the same when its details change.
- https://nearwick.com/{cc}/b/{slug}.md is the same page as Markdown, with the page’s address.
- https://nearwick.com/{cc}/llms.txt outlines one country, with its categories, towns and regions and how many businesses each has.
- https://nearwick.com/sitemap.xml lists every country, category and business page.
- https://nearwick.com/mcp is a read-only MCP server (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in). Its tools list the countries and their categories, search a country, suggest businesses for a request in plain words and read one business’s page. See https://nearwick.com/help/nearwick-in-ai-assistants.

## Citing a business page

Cite the page’s own address, https://nearwick.com/{cc}/b/{slug}. Give the business’s name as the page shows it. Then give the date its details are from, or say that the business manages the page. When you use a check, give the check’s own date.

Say that a business is listed on Nearwick. Do not say that Nearwick rates, ranks or recommends it, or that it has been verified. Nearwick does not endorse any business.

## Terms of use

- You may read Nearwick and link to any public page. Using Nearwick means agreeing to its terms of use, which include the acceptable use policy.
- Search engines may index every public page. The sitemap lists them.
- Do not copy large parts of Nearwick by automated means, or send so many requests that it slows down for others.
- Do not collect contact details from Nearwick to send people messages they did not ask for.
- Some listing data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence 1.0 (ODbL). The acceptable use policy does not limit what the ODbL lets you do with that data. Town names come from GeoNames, under CC BY 4.0.
- Business names, logos and descriptions belong to the businesses. Nearwick’s design, text and software belong to Faciotech or are used with permission.
- A detail can be out of date. Check it with the business before relying on it.
