NearwickBot
Nearwick is a business directory. NearwickBot reads the websites of businesses listed on it so their pages stay up to date.
What it reads
The home page of a listed business's own website, about once a week, and its robots.txt first. It takes what the site says about the business: a short description, opening hours, what it offers and its social profiles. It does not fill in forms, log in, follow links around the site, or collect phone numbers or email addresses.
How it behaves
It identifies itself as NearwickBot/1.0, sends one request to a site at a time with pauses between them, and keeps to robots.txt. A site that asks bots not to visit is left alone.
How to stop it
Add this to your robots.txt and it will not read your site again:
User-agent: NearwickBot Disallow: /
If your business is listed and you would rather it was not, or you want to correct its page, use the links on that page, or find your business.
