About us
Govt. Madan Mohan College, situated in Lamabazar, Sylhet, stands as a beacon of higher education in northeastern Bangladesh. Established on January 26, 1940, the college was founded by philanthropists Mohini Mohan Das, Jugendra Mohan Das, and Prafulla Mohan Das in memory of their father, Madan Mohan Das. Their vision was to provide quality education to the region's youth. Initially offering courses in the arts and humanities, the college quickly gained a reputation for academic excellence. Over the years, it expanded its curriculum to include science, commerce, and social sciences, aligning with the evolving educational needs of the community. Today, Govt. Madan Mohan College offers a wide range of academic programs affiliated with the National University of Bangladesh, serving as a cornerstone of learning and development in Sylhet.
