Yem is a Frafra (Northern Ghana) word meaning knowledge. Amaachi is derived from an Ewe (Eastern Ghana) word meaning medicine. Maachi is also Twi (Southern Ghana) phrase meaning good morning. Together, this conveys the meaning of our name Yemaachi: A new dawn for health knowledge. Yemaachi is creating the world’s most diverse cancer bio-database to develop the next generation of cancer drugs that are effective in diverse populations. Yemaachi is working towards a future where precision oncology research, diagnostics, and therapeutics are truly inclusive, for the benefit of people everywhere.
